June 25th--First Day of Reporting

Alright, so today has been long. Up early in the morning for work, I honestly was dreading an all day orientation with class in the middle. But, orientation and the subsequent sports meeting turned out to be just what my day needed. Yes, it is essentially past midnight, but I am wide awake. Why you ask? Because at the meeting this afternoon it became evidently clear that there would be very little hand holding and it was up to us to find stories to do. Well guess what? I found my first story, and the original idea I had, while decent, transformed into a personal, deep sports piece about a talented young athlete. The article should be up tomorrow, and I must say as I coined the idea, did the research, conducted the interview and wrote the story all on the first day I would say I am feeling pretty peachy-keen about reporting so far. Now...to find my next story!
