ALright...this has NOTHING to do with our class, but I just wanted to share the most amazing experience I've ever had. Saturday and Sunday I spent my evenings sleeping on an air mattress under a pile of horseblankets alone and waking up every two hours to check on Chloe our pregnant broodmare and to clean her stall. Night one--Saturday--resulted in no baby and two hours of sleep. Sunday, again two hours of sleep, but at the magic hour of 12am Chloe broke water and went into labor. At 12:20am a beautiful chesnut colt was born with two white hind socks and a white star and connecting stripe. It was incredible to watch and be part of this entire experience from last may (insemination) to now (labor, birth and imprinting the foal) and now caring for mommy and baby.
